Lowering of standards
USAA used to be the most competitive auto insurance hands-down. It is now one of the highest very disappointed and looking for a new insurance company.

The powers who make decisions are unreceptive to customer recommendations
For at least five years, I have tried to make recommendations to USAA's decision makers regarding auto ID cards, but the recommendations that customer service people who handle my phone calls and take my complaints/recommendations then assured me that they would pass along those recommendations to USAA's administrators who are responsible for effecting decisions on those. Either those recommendations were not passed along, or they were and dismissed. ISSUES: I am a customer who does not have a printer, so I call and request three paper copies of my auto ID “proof of insurance” cards each and every six-months. ACUTE ISSUE (related to my requests): this past time a few months ago, USAA sent me six individual copies — 1. Three separate copies for the three-month period just ending, which I did not need. 2. Three separate copies for the current three-month period. CONCERN & DISAPPOINTMENT: Why? I don't need to be sent three copies in three separately mailed envelopes. All three AUTO ID “Proof of Insurance” Cards should be sent in one envelope, not in three separate envelopes. USAA's unreceptivity to send those repeated requests for my three copies of the Auto ID cards in ONE envelope is wasteful. RECOMMENDATION: Please revise USAA policies to send requested AUTO ID Cards in one envelope.

Worst bank on the planet
They pretend to be military friendly. It's a scam. USAA continued to take out automatic loan payments on my car that was PAID OFF (twice) which caused my checking account to overdraft and incur fees. What's worse is they never owned up to it nor did they admit fault. Instead they blamed me for scheduling automatic payments (which was selected from day one of the loan three years prior). Absolutely unbelievable. Worst customer service, extremely rude, escalated the situation all the way to the “CEO engagement team” and let me tell you those people are ruthlessly arrogant. USAA cares about one thing- making money just like any other business with the predatory stance of being pro-military and offering better services. The entire organization is a grift.

I like USAA but the mobile deposit is time consuming and unreliable. I may need to switch banks to find a better one.

Msgs
Why does it take 5 or 6 clicks to see a msg you notify me of. When you tell me I have a msg I should be able to sign on and click on the msg

App communication
I think USAA is a really good insurance company and I have been mostly happy with the coverage and service I have received but I try to communicate thru the App like they ask you to and it either takes a long time to get a reply or multiple messages before you get a response.

Too few Humans.
Not every Veteran has experienced the novelty of having a computer put you on hold, then hanging up. You should wait 3 minutes if you made someone wait 3 minutes.

Bank and app are horrible.
Did a mobile deposit for 5300. Usaa deposited 5300 in my sons acct then pulled it back out and overdrew his account. Now there's nothing they can or will do to fix it.

USAA where is your spark?
I have been with USAA for 49 years. And I would say that for 47 of those years I would call USAA my knight in shining armor. In the last two years USAA transferred my retirement account to Schwab a move that has wrecked havoc on my life. USAA has changed their answering phone system to one with a long que (very annoying) the people answering the phone sound tired, mean, and uninformed. The app is confusing — basically a technical nightmare, which includes the chat. Absolutely unhelpful and a waste of time trying to get a question answered there. My children have moved from USAA and my husband has kept some things and moved others. I am the last hold out. Come on USAA get the spark back and be the company I have come to know and love. May 15, 2024 I have noticed that the app is much easier to use. Not sue if it's me getting used to it or if USAA made adjustments. I like to think USAA is listening to its members. I still dislike Swab but don't know what to do about it. USAA takes care of us, it's just that the journey doesn't have the same comfortable welcoming customer service behind it. Makes me sad. I'm hanging in, loyalty is important, right?
