Review
Decent app. Creative characters help kids learn. I wish you could customize the speed of speech. The characters speak too slowly and it gets boring for my kids.

Poor translation
The app would be much better if the translation wasn't so bad. The children are addressed in a formal form and the pronunciation of many words is simply wrong. Here it seems to have been translated completely without any language skills.

Full purchase has Pop up ads
I would not recommend this app. It still produces marketing pop up ads after purchasing for no ad option.

Very cute, love that it's ad-free without cost! However, it's a little too simple for my learner. I was hoping for something like an interactive worsheet where they can practice the letter over and over with a bit of fun injected into it. Here, you trace the letter once. You can retrace it, but the character's response doesn't change, nor does anything incentiving happen. My learner needs something with constant engagement when it comes to repetitive tasks, so this isn't a good fit for them.

Incorrect Sounds
While this app may seem good on the surface, it teaches incorrect sounds. For example, “A is for ant”. This does not teach the correct sounds for short a. The sounds also have a schwa on the end. For example, “B says bu”. These errors may seem small, but based on research through the Science of Reading and from an early childhood educator's perspective, these things can cause delays in learning to read.
ABC Kids - Tracing & Phonics - Product Description

ABC Kids is a free phonics and alphabet teaching app that makes learning fun for children, from toddlers all the way to preschoolers and kindergartners. Adults can easily access settings to engage Teacher Mode, look at report cards, or toggle tracing and phonics games to better facilitate learning. Best of all, ABC Kids is full-featured and free from in-app purchases and third party advertisements. Toddlers and adults can enjoy learning together without interruption. Just pure educational fun! Note to Parents: When creating ABC Kids, we wanted to build the best experience possible for both adults and for children. We're parents ourselves, and we know how paywalls, in-app purchases, and intrusive third party advertisements can detract from the learning experience. With ABC Kids, we put the features of a paid app into a preschool friendly package, leaving out frustrating pop-ups and microtransactions. The end result is exactly the educational experience we want for our children. We think you and your family will enjoy it, too! - Best wishes from the parents at RV AppStudios
