okay app

the app is amazing if you have premium, you can review mistakes and do legendary lessons for free and even unlimited hearts but this app is atrocious to use if you dont have premium, ads after every lesson which makes you lose motivation and if you get 5/20 questions wrong then u cant learn anymore until you either pay or wait for hearts which takes 6 hours to fully refill. Yes it may have a wide selection of languages but its rubbish if the actual app wears down your motivation and makes the app basically unusable if you don't have premium.

bug

Whenever I try to do my most recent lesson, whenever I press continue the app freezes and no matter what I do it will not unfreeze. I've been having to do my previous lessons in order to extend my streak. The 1st question in the lesson is la computadora, Talk about school lesson 4 of 5. Please fix this soon.

A few points of concern

I am taking German lessons with Duolingo and I find it fun and a decent challenge however 1. Duolingo should make explaining your mistake free instead of something you subscribe for. 2. They should also start with gender nouns such as (der, das, die, in German being male female and neuter) and should teach you similar words and how to tell the difference between them when using a sentence so you don't lose hearts so quickly or else learning the language is very “eff around and find out” when starting from scratch I think teaching greetings would've made more sense than ordering from a cafe. And they are too gentle with leaving out accents. They are just like “okay close enough but make sure to put the accent next time you silly Billy!” But god forbid you misspell something by two letters!

The game is thief

Not gonna lie the game is good, but I was playing some match madness and I was looking for the word car and every 😭 time I looked for that one word I could even find and my brain tells me to click on Carro and I click so you need to explain why that is the case

Instructions unclear, punctuation

There are missing punctuation marks in the translation, the instructions are often unclear, "Click on pairs" where the left column is not known. It should be "Click on the recording sign and find the right word."

Starting with Symphony No. 7, it won't let me do it because it changes the rhythm. It really bothered me so I quit Duolingo.
