Super disappointing price point
Man, I was so excited for this app because, IT'S REALLY WELL DONE, and makes learning ASL so accessible, but the price point is such a high barrier to entry. I'm a teacher and use ASL in my classroom every day, I think it's important to not only be accessible to students who are hearing impaired, but it's also such an engaging way to interact with students and have them interact with each other. My students love learning ASL. But I was never taught, so I learn what I can on my own time and dollar. Thought this app was the answer, again ITS SO WELL DONE, but I just can't justify the cost. Make a free version that shows me ads or something, I'll do that all day long.

Wish I’d read reviews before downloading
Nothing in their social media adds makes it clear how quickly this app becomes pay to play. I just assumed it would be like a duo lingo situation where you could unlock more features by paying money but this cuts you off completely after just a few lessons. Highly coercive and unethical. Would love to pay them but I don't make $18 a month for an app I'll use maybe once a day kinda money.

Good! Until…
The elements for learning are awesome, don't get me wrong, but you can only learn two custom words before a paid only pop-up occurs. When I woke up for a second day of learning, it prompted me to sign up to continue. I get trying to make money, but almost everything is put behind a paywall. Still a good app nonetheless.

The app is so well made but it sucks not being able to afford the upgrade. You need the full app to be able to learn more. Like one mentioned...there should be an option to watch ads to get more. I have autistic kids and I use sign language with them to communicate and learning signs and teaching them the signs make our lives so much easier.

Let me play without a “free trial”
I like this app. It taught me words and phrases effectively and I was able to memorize the words. In just 1 day I was able to complete a lot of lessons! On the other hand, I do wish it would let me to continue learning without a “free trial.” Also, one thing about the app is when you leave a lesson and come back, it restarts to the beginning of the lesson, which makes it hard because you have already learned those words, and it is just a hassle overall. 🙂

Pay to access content
Unfortunately after learning the basic greetings & a couple of words like “monkey” & “house” (1.5 chapters) you then cannot access anymore lessons without paying. The lessons themselves & how the App works, from what I briefly saw, are great but I felt I didn't get to try out the App enough to commit to paying subscription for it unfortunately.

It is a good, accurate app. But after a couple lessons you have to pay for the rest. I wish they would have at least said this so I didn't wear my time.

Needs to be better for the price
At $20 a month, some of the issues this app has need to be fixed. That's a steep price to be unintuitive. One issue is that words have to be spelt exactly as they teach them and there are zero alternatives they accept. For example, if you learn “bicycle” you can never write “bike”. You have to learn all these specific ways of translating concepts. Another issue is that some words don't match other sources and what I see in real life.
