well it seems as though I got a ding for slamming on my brakes in order to avoid as serious accident in an intersection!? when I should be getting credit to my alertness as a great driver. overall I guess it's working pretty good as I've just now completed the preliminary? we'll see what kind of discount happens later, for a true review.

Misinformation
At times my drive shows phone usage when none was used.
Android

The new updates to this app make it unusable. It now drains about 80% of my phone battery in about 4 hours. Talking to USAA about the problem is useless. They seem to be oblivious to the fact it is draining the battery.

There seems to be a big with this app and Android 15. It destroys my battery, my phone even discharges when on a wireless charger due to this app. It uses more battery than a wireless charger supplies. I am uninstalling for now

I kept getting flagged for phone handling(even though I hadn't used my phone while driving), which lowered my score.

after a full year of this battery drainer you'd hope there would be an option for a flat discount rate without the app. but no, I'm still having to check in with my insurance every time I ride shotgun with someone who rides their brakes
USAA SafePilot - Product Description
Participation in this program is currently limited to USAA members with an active auto insurance policy in select states.

The USAA SafePilot App instructs, inspires and rewards safe driving habits to help keep you safe on the road while lowering your auto insurance premium.

Eligible members can receive a discount of up to 10% for enrolling and participating in the program, and earn a premium discount at renewal time for being safe drivers.

When activated, the app monitors driving habits including phone handling, hands-free phone use, harsh braking, and how much you drive. The better you drive, the greater the discount on your next premium. All members of a household included on a USAA auto insurance policy can participate, with the earned discount based on an average of each driver’s individual score.
