I don't like that the subscription is difficult to opt out of while starting the app. I only wanted to use for making fermented products,I did not need recipes or other help. It does work well for what I wanted, though sometimes shuts off for no reason .

Asking for a monthly subscription to use the app is a horrible choice.. uninstalled

I've had my Anova Pro for just over 2 years now and love it. I couldn't care less about the recipes in this app since I always Google them anyways, nor the wireless control features for it since it has a a built in screen and controls. It really does nothing important for me to use the app with it. I just bought the new Mini though since the sale price was great and I wanted to be able to sous vide two separate temps. What I didn't realize that was since it doesn't have a control method built in, you absolutely have to use the App to control the Mini. An app that you now need to pay for. As an existing owner, my account was “grandfathered” in as though I've paid for the subscription, but they make it clear that the grandfathered service is subject to and likely to incur changes in the future to limit the features, so it's a temp measure really to avoid making all their existing owners angry while they try to onboard new customers who've never had the choice. Supposedly they made the wireless control and cook monitoring feature free for everyone after heavy backlash. What's extremely upsetting is that without the subscription/grandfathered service, you can only control 1 device from the app. Yup… you heard right. Want to cook with two units? Well, pay up. As a grandfathered user, I know that doesn't apply to me just yet, but it's clear from their wording that it eventually will. Regardless, it's a tarnish on the brand to even consider locking such an essential feature because subscriptions. Want to charge for recipe access? Fine, whatever. It's a dog move, but most people can get around being impacted if they don't want to subscribe to see recipes they can (and should) find anywhere else. Locking the ability to use more than one unit at once without a subscription is an abuse of consumer trust and market position. It's wrong for everyone affected, even if I'm not one of them right now. It's especially wrong when they sell units now that are completely unusable in any form without having the app to control them. Anyways, the mini is getting returned. Looks and feels cheap, and this is not the Anova quality I've come to expect on either a hardware or customer service level. Shame. Do better.

What the actual fork Anova?? You've bricked my cooker to extort me for subscription fees. Seriously? I suggest you fire your management team.

This app was for people who purchased Anova products and now they want you to pay even more money for the app, just to view and share other people's recipes and cooking times and temperatures. Not sure why they changed it but it's Horrible!!

I received a notification that there is now a subscription required in order to control your device from the app. Luckily my account is grandfathered in but why did this change? This was a free feature for years. Guess companies can't resist any and all cash grabs even if it means losing loyal customers. I will never be buying anything Anova again.

Regardless of years of updates and email I still can't get to the button to change the temperature! Come on guys - please fix this!
