Missing Basic Functionality
I like many of the BBC programmes so the content would get more stars. However, the BBC is on a mission to prevent you listening to many programmes through a favoured podcast player so BBC Sounds becomes the only way. This inevitably leads me to compare the app with a podcast app. Here is where it falls short. I simply want to subscribe to shows and download them for offline play. Downloading is supported and playback is fine. The biggest issue is the lack of subscription downloads. New episodes arrive and I get a notification saying so. The notification doesn't say what is new and the subscriptions have no automatic download. This means going through each subscription manually looking to see if there is a new episode and then downloading it via a few taps. Surely an automatic download feature should be present by now?!

Works solidly, no frills but reliable. My only criticism is the push notifications, please allow me to only get notifications for shows I'm subscribed to. I don't want the marketing notifications.

This app was amazing ... until the latest update which seems to not work and crashes on my phone. There doesn't appear to be a method of reverting to the last working version. Seems that the app needs to be uninstalled and re-installed!

BBC sounds no longer available on my iPad
After paying the (extortionate) annual licence fee to watch literally 2-3 occasional programmes per month on BBC iPlayer I now find myself unable to listen to BBC sounds on my iPad. BBC wonders why thousands of previous customers have refused to pay this crippling licence fee to watch mostly utter dross that is churned out trying to attract audiences back to the fold.

Hi. The BBC is the best around but since the update I can't download shows and all loads extremely slow if at all. I cleared cache and data, uninstalled the App, restarted but still no success. Logged into my account also. Issue remains on my S9 mobile. Also the BBC iPlayer App won't load properly. What's the issue? I am on Hyperoptics Broadband with huge fibre optics data throughput. I can still stream radio though.

Disturbing BBC Sounds ident
The “autoplay” next episode isn't working. I have set if to Off to avoid the awful ident at the start of many the episodes has this horrible, disturbing surging ‘tune' but it now just plays on. Aaarrrrhhh!

Broken CarPlay with Google Navigation.
Looks like you have redefined the app as a podcast which means google maps will mute it when giving directions. Now totally unusable in CarPlay.

Autoplay not working
I have autoplay toggled off on my phone which up until the most recent update (25 March I think) worked fine…. But not any more! Any ideas how to stop the next episode of shows playing?
