The application claims to be connected but in reality I get a dead screen, I only have an exit button.

It does not allow you to download RAW (CR3). It also does not allow you to choose whether to delete ONLY the JPG or the CR3. An app dedicated to photography cannot have such shortcomings.

Rubbish. Got this to work once. As far as I can tell, Canon don't seem to care. Still rubbish 3 years later. Gave it the benefit of the doubt with the updated app but still doesn't connect. The one time I did get it to connect (3 years ago) it was very useful but the app and camera just take me round in circles to no good effect. VERY FRUSTRATING!

Incredibly helpful and a fantastic idea, when it decides to work. Having something that turns my phone into not only a second screen, but also a clicker opens up the ability for self portraits, remote shooting, and other amazing possibilities. Unfortunately the number of disconnections and other instabilitys reduce the fantastic potential of the app, not certain if it's just my model of camera, but I've had to troubleshoot every time of use. Stable permanent connection would up rating alone.

This app used to be amazing. With my Canon [phone], I constantly connected via Bluetooth and it was incredibly handy. With my new camera (Canon R) my camera never wants to connect via Bluetooth. Via WiFi I can sometimes get it to connect but I have to delete the connection history and create a new network every single time, for this to happen. That said, it is still usable, just requires a lot of patience.

It's a hit or miss every time I try to connect my phone and the Camera via WiFi. Wish Canon can make improvements to make phone connection a little bit easier and reliable.

Canon Camera Connect is an application to transfer images shot with compatible Canon cameras to smartphone/tablet. By connecting to a camera with Wi-Fi (direct connection or via wireless router), this application provides the following features: ・Transfer and save camera images to a smartphone. ・Remote shoot with live view imaging of the camera from a smartphone. ・Connect with Canon's various services. This application also provides the following features for compatible cameras. ・Acquire location information from a smartphone and add it to the images on the camera. ・Switch to a Wi-Fi connection from pairing status with a Bluetooth enabled camera. ・Remote release of the camera shutter with a Bluetooth connection. ・Transfer the latest firmware. *For compatible models and features, please refer to the following website. https://image.canon/st/ccc.html -Operating System iOS 15.7 / 16.4 iPadOS 15.7 / 16.4 -Bluetooth System Requirement For Bluetooth connection, the camera needs to have a Bluetooth function, and your device needs to have Bluetooth 4.0 or later (supports Bluetooth Low energy technology). -Compatible File Types JPEG, MP4, MOV, CR3, CR2 ・RAW (CR3/CR2) images can be imported as RAW format by selecting [RAW image save format] > [RAW format] from the [Images on camera] setting while connected to a compatible model (iOS 12.1 or later for CR3). ・ Importing RAW (.CR2) format is possible with wireless compatible EOS models and some PowerShot models (G1 X Mark III / G9 X Mark II / G7 X Mark II). ・RAW (CR2/CR3) images are resized and imported into JPEG by selecting [RAW image save format] > [JPEG format]. ・RAW burst files cannot be imported to smart devices.
