Very nicely built app and easy to navigate. I love it overall. I am giving it 3 stars because of the convenience fees they charge for buying movie tickets. Fandango tries to encourage a subscription service to remove the fees, and it all feels very predatory. Convenience fees should be done away with for good.

Fandango gift cards are a scam

The surcharge for non-premium members using the app is ridiculous. I wish I'd been given a gift certificate for the local theater and bought tickets in person instead of through the app, saving myself $6.59 in bogus “convienence fees”, since I'm not a member of their $9.99 a month fan club. Since I can't use the gift card at the theater, I tried to “pre-order” snacks through the app, which was ridiculous at $25 after fees for a large popcorn, soda, and 1 candy, but noooooo, you can't use a gift card to pre-purchase the snacks. The gift cards are for MOVIE TICKETS ONLY. It doesn't say this on the gift certificate anywhere. DO NOT BUY THEIR GIFT CERTIFICATES. THEY WILL JUST MAKE THE RECIPIENT ANGRY, LIKE ME.

Be warned sale is final

I have used this app over the years and this past weekend. I was very disappointed in the customer service. We got to a theater at our condiments and popcorn, and we sit down and didn't even make it past the reviews and someone comes in and says there is an active shooter in the mall that's next to us so we all leave the theater and go home the movie still playing I called customer service and they will not help you refund or credit the movie because the time it's playing is final
