Freeletics: Workouts & Fitness - Latest Quality Issues

Just rubbish! For an app that uses "AI" it's ultra restricted. We can hardly change anything in the programs compared to our habits. Not to mention that it doesn't have a free version so you have to pay directly even before you can test the App...

I can't find an option to cast to a Chromecast.

The app is pretty and dynamic, but it is not my style of training. It's mostly for home training and CrossFit. I do gym workouts, bodybuilding. The trainings on the app are not optimal for hypertrophy in comparison.

You have to pay, there's no free option, nothing at all, just stretching.

Apple Watch?
I've been a user for almost 5 years. However, I always hoped that at some point it would work again on the Apple Watch. So I have to click on the screen every time I do an exercise or I'm done. If this function should come, I would take out another subscription. However, at some point the exercises became too monotonous for me.

I do not recommend
This is my first opinion of any app on the Apple Store, which also has its importance. I have a paid version. The app is terrible, nothing here is intuitive, searching for exercises by name is some kind of joke, exercises completely unsuitable even if you let the app know that you can't and can't do it, individual exercises in the generated plan can't be changed when you don't have the conditions or you're aware that you won't be able to do it, the number of repetitions can be changed (wow) but temporary exercises can't, because all in all, the creators decided that what for. Well, unless you want to change the number of repetitions in the prepared "additional" exercises, not those from the training plan, then you can't. The app has zero customization for itself as for a paid one, and that's quite a lot, the apps throw you random exercises that you can just as easily find on Yourube—the effect will be the same, if not better.

Flawed updates
I've been using the Freeletics app for around 6 years and up until recently have been very impressed. The coach function is extremely well structured and the exercises are challenging provided you are honest with your feedback. The problem I have now though is that you can no longer train offline. I spend quite a lot of time at sea and in areas with limited connectivity and this never used to be an issue provided I opened the app and updated the daily workout whilst online. I could still complete the workout with the connectivity dropping in and out and the progress would then be logged with the app once a solid connection was re established. Recent updates have meant that this is no longer possible and as soon as the connection drops any progress is lost and you cannot continue with the workout as the app freezes. I've tried using the apps AI tool to come up with a solution but nothing seems to work and you just get told to re establish a WiFi or cellular connection to continue. Hopefully the developers can can fix this issue in the near future as it's currently unworkable if your training in remote locations. This wasn't an issue with previous iterations so hopefully an easy fix 🤞.

This app is clearly meant for general fitness, not for achieving specific goals, especially bodybuilding. There's no way to customize the workout plans created by the app, you cannot add or remove exercises, the app isn't really flexible and doesn't allow much else than what the selected program says. Theres no option for machines like lat pulldown or chest press machine, no exercise-specific notes, etc. For Bodybuilding, go with Progression, Hevy or Strong. This one is meant for the elderly.

Good for training at home, not so suitable if you go to a gym. The mass gain program for example mixes mat work with weights in the same sets. While this may work in some gyms, it may send you scrambling from one area to another in order to finish a set which I find mildly irritating.
