Lacks functionality, extremely frustrating
It's a total crapshoot if clicking a link will open the link or not. Very unusable—took me days to figure out I was supposed to double tap in order to go into edit mode. They appear to be trying to be as simple as possible, but that only works when there's still the functionality you need. I just find it so funny that I have to use this awful Google software because the masses have decided it's the one we all have to use even when we have far more advanced devices. Why should we all have to stoop to the lowest common denominator? And it's not like there's another viable Google tablet alternative so I truly don't understand why they make this app so godawful. And all to support a total Zionist, predatory capitalist (redundant, I know) company.

Terrible
Google Slides is one of the most frustrating, broken, and poorly designed apps I've ever had the misfortune of using. Every time I try to get work done, it lags, glitches, or straight-up crashes, wasting my time and testing my patience. It's supposed to be a simple tool for making presentations, but instead, it feels like a buggy mess that barely functions. Google, a company worth billions, somehow can't make a basic slideshow app that doesn't freeze every five seconds. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the developers are just sitting around, laughing at how bad they've made it. One of the biggest issues with Google Slides is its constant lagging. You click on something, and instead of responding instantly, the app just sits there like a brain-dead sloth. Moving text boxes, changing fonts, or even scrolling through slides turns into a slow, painful process. How is it that in 2025, a simple cloud-based app still struggles with basic responsiveness? It's as if the people who designed it never actually used it for real work. Then there are the glitches, which make it even worse. Sometimes slides just disappear. Other times, text won't save properly, or elements randomly move around like they have a mind of their own. And let's not forget the moments when the whole screen goes white, forcing you to refresh and pray that your progress wasn't deleted. I can only assume that whoever is in charge of fixing bugs at Google either doesn't exist or spends their time playing solitaire instead of working. Even when it does function (which is rare), Google Slides is painfully slow and limited. It lacks the smooth animations, advanced editing tools, and overall polish of PowerPoint. Want to make a presentation that actually looks professional? Too bad—you're stuck with clunky transitions and barely any customization. It's as if Google decided, “Let's make the most boring, restrictive presentation tool possible and call it a day.” At the end of the day, Google Slides is an embarrassment. It feels like it was designed by lazy developers who don't care about making a functional product. If they actually used their own app for more than five minutes, they'd realize how atrocious it is. Until they fix it (which they probably never will), I'll be looking for literally any other option that doesn't make me want to throw my computer out the window.

It's good , but the only downside is that when I open A ppt file which I've created in PowerPoint, all the fonts and transitions get set back to default, which means everything is bare and blank

Kind of hard to use. Im not sure how to go to the background and other features that are easy to get on with a computer. I think it should be more user friendly, instead of me needing youtube.
