Poorly designed
Yesterday i was able to scan the QR code. Today i cannot scan it anymore. NFC scan is not working on both Google pixel and iphone 11

Although I input all details entirely correctly and took a photo of my UK passport and scanned my face using the front camera the identification would not work. The same issue happens on the GOV.UK site. Once again - all my UK passport and UK driving licence details were out entirely correct and it still will not work.

GOV.UK ID Check - Product Description
The GOV.UK ID Check app lets you confirm your identity online, so you can securely access certain government services. The app works by matching your face to your photo ID. Before you start You can use any one of the following: • a valid UK photocard driving licence • a valid passport with a biometric chip • a valid UK biometric residence permit (BRP) You will need: • a well-lit area so that you can take a good quality photograph • an iPhone 6s or higher • iOS 13 or higher How it works If your photo ID is a driving licence you will: • take a photo of your driving licence • scan your face using your phone If your photo ID is a passport you will: • take a photo of your passport • scan the biometric chip in your passport using your phone • scan your face using your phone If your photo ID is a BRP you will: • take a photo of your BRP • scan the biometric chip in your BRP using your phone • scan your face using your phone What happens next The app only helps confirm your identity. You will return to the website of the government service you were accessing to view the results of your identity check. Privacy and security Your personal information will not be stored in the app, or on the phone when you finish using it. We collect your data securely and delete it when it is no longer needed.
