The New York Times - Latest Quality Issues

it doesn't work so well when i change account
iOS

Needs lots of work
The app is just not it. The search function rarely brings up relevant items. And why if I click on a NYT link in another app, does the app not open? I'm taking instead to a browser where I can then choose to read in the app

Good, timely coverage of the news. The sports and lifetime sections are less interesting to a European reader.

The NY Times acts like a virus. I am a subscriber who likes to read through thru a web browser. The Times repeatedly sends popups to direct me to read in the app. Heck I would do that if I wanted to since the app is on my phone. To receive multiple popuos while just trying to read EACH article is ruins the reading experience. I blame the app and app maker. That's why I unsubscribed before. 5 star for the content minus four for taking over my phone.

Shameful accessibility on TalkBack. Clearly they are not testing. I am a paying subscriber.

Frustrating on a basic level
Every update of the NYTimes app brings new variations on longstanding bugs, making this one of most frustrating reading experiences on the iPad. With the current version, tapping a headline on the today page causes the page position to jump instead of opening the article; you then need to scroll through the page to find the link again and tap it a second time to open it. I regularly go back and forth between the web site and this app, currently the web site is the better way to read the times.

cancelled my subscription, received confirmation of this but was then still charged and it's a nightmare to try and contact customer support as someone in Australia

good app but too many ads

NYT, please stop showing the popup when I take a screenshot... this breaks scrolling screenshots on Samsung... this is a MAJOR PAIN POINT... I'm a paying subscriber, I know I can send a gift article, I just want a freaking screenshot. I know you want people to use your links for sharing, i understand that - but I don't plan on sharing most of these screenshots... this is how I manage my collection of things across services, saved articles do NOT solve this. Please fix this!
