Automatic Points With Linked Cards/Stores Severely Lacking
This app advertises if you link credit cards and choose favorite stores, you will effortlessly gain cash. Totally not true. Always have to check them like another job that is sorely underpaid for your work!

The app is as good as beginning.
This app was good when I started , I can get reward for my online orders. But recently, i shopped through this app. It always showing pending then the app tells me ineligible order long time later. Useless

I would not recommend
They are not reliable. Had to reach out to Member services about an ineligibility. That read terms and conditions on and none of them applied to me so I waited on my funds. They never showed. They were unhelpful. You can't get any of your own account information on the app. Most of the one star reviews are absolutely accurate. If you have time to follow up with stores and accounts/ confirmations and then going back to Rakuten app after they've already stated they would give you cash back by using the link on a PC, that's inaccurate. It's supposed to automatically add your cash back information from the site you used when on a PC, it did not. After contacting member service, they just screenshot different verbiage of the same unhelpful response in emails , I had to cancel. Such a disappointment.

When I first used this app I was able to get cash back from Bjs, Sams club and target. Now I can't use it at these places. They don't allow cash back for everyday items such as groceries which was the main reason I used this.

Do NOT sign in with Apple
Update: I was finally able to contact someone with an email referral from the developer. Fixing the account was quick (I am no longer using Apple sign-in). Original advice below still stands, but the reason I never got any response for help is probably the same reason I never got any confirmation codes. Help from Rakuten is nonexistent. They ignore your requests for help and they don't have a phone number. Their system is not compatible with Apple sign in because (according to Apple) they are somehow blocking the proxy email addresses that Apple uses, so you can't receive the confirmation codes needed to complete your account setup. My account is in limbo so I cannot speak to the actual usefulness of this app.

Absolute Scam!
I have been using Rakuten for years now, and it has always worked wonderfully! It's so cool getting paid (no matter how small) to purchase things you already would anyway. I'm not sure what has changed recently but it has been SEVERELY slowed down. For the last few purchases I've tried to make thru Rakuten, when I go to checkout, it just sits and doesn't load fully. It just does that until it times out. I have restarted the phone, updated the app, made sure my fiber optic internet connection is solid. NOTHING works. My only thought is they have intentionally done this to hope people give up and not use the app. I have lost out on money from my last 3 LARGE purchases…..absolutely suspicious. Total scam! Would give 0 stars if I could!!!!
