Why do I have to pay?
I started answering questions and before I could get my ideal wake up time it said I had to pay

App has gone downhill
Or maybe it just never really worked? Seems to set everyone's sleep time to 8 hours and 15 minutes. It's used 3 years of my sleep tracking data and even though ku average sleep time is 7 1/2 hours and I never sleep more than 9 hours, the sleep app has increased my recommend sleep time to 9 hours and 15 minutes. It also randomly added 8 hours to me sleep debt one night even though my usual sleep was recorded. And it doesn't always pull the data from my Apple Watch even though the watch data is correct in Apple health - instead it uses nightstand detection which is ever accurate. So now my sleep debt increases every day and all the prompts, sleep reminders and melatonin window are in the wrong place. I've been trying for almost a month to get an answer from rise support but just get their standard “we will respond in 1 day” answer. Will be cancelling my subscription and moving to a different app.

Why does it assume everyone sleeps at night? My I sleep at 10am to 5pm but I can't even enter my data because it limits the time you can enter.

App only for normal people
I have very big problems of sleep, I can fall asleep on 8 am or even next day. You trying to explain it to app, it can't understand at all, and doing some weird calculations for me to continue this habit. Someone give my money back :(

Does do its functions
The app has a pleasant interface and that is the only good thing in it. The app doesn't track sleep correctly regardless of wearing Apple Watch or using a phone on a mattress. I tried it differently with different options. If you decide to use the app with the phone only, it can track no sleep at all even with an alert enabled in the app. Speaking of the alert, there's an annoying bug that disables alert each time you close the app on the phone if you wear the watch and you need to add another alert but in the app on the watch. After you wake up and see that the app didn't count your sleep anyhow near correctly (e.g. I slept for 8+ hours, the app showed 35 minutes. It happened every night with a slight difference in timing), you cannot even change your sleep time in a convenient way if you can change it at all. The app once "tracked" that I slept for 10 minutes a day and it's not possible to do anything with it, I can't change it anyhow. Additionally to the aforementioned things, the support team ignores absolutely all appeals. They simply don't answer to any emails or requests. You're promised that they'll get to you in a day and that's all, nothing further. The question is whether the app costs your money is rhetorical.

Let’s Talk Alternatives
If you're reading this, you have an iPhone, which means you're familiar with the pop-up subscription tactics that come with downloading apps. If I'm not mistaken, RISE has no free to use version, which means you're paying 9.99 x 12 =119.88 a year or around $65 for a year subscription for information that is available for free from other sources online. I would encourage users to look for free alternatives, pay attention and/or journal your energy levels throughout the day with time marks, and keep track of how long you sleep when you're able to sleep in. Additionally, drink plenty of water throughout the day, don't drink caffeine a few hours before bed, and use the hour before your bedtime to relax. And while it's not usually recommended to eat before bed, hunger can often times keep you awake. Just be conscious of the snacks you choose to be sure you don't counteract your sleepiness. Recommendation for the company: If there is a free to use option for features like sleep tracking, the option for that needs to be available. Otherwise it was kind of a disappointing experience and often inaccurate about energy level predictions.

FEEL BETTER
Are you wondering how to get the most out of your sleep? It’s time to look beyond a new mattress or getting eight hours of shut eye and focus instead on your SLEEP DEBT.

Sleep Debt is one of the most vital findings in the last century of sleep science. When your Sleep Debt is low, your quality of life as well as your life expectancy increases. When your Sleep Debt is high, the opposite happens.

With Rise, learn what Sleep Debt is, how it works and then calculate your own. This will help you better understand why some days you feel great and others not as much. It will help you decipher when you should prioritize sleep and the real toll staying up late has on you.

GUIDANCE TAILORED FOR YOU
Do you find your mind racing just as your head hits the pillow? Unable to stop doom-scrolling on your phone until the early hours?

Based on your data and the latest research, we’ll make recommendations on new personalized habits that fit your needs and help you feel better immediately.

How Rise helps you sleep better:
Encourages you to get into bed on time
Provides guidance when you have difficulty sleeping
Reduces the amount of times you wake up in the middle of the night
Optimizes sleep time to reduce feelings of grogginess

OPTIMIZE YOUR DAY
We all have an internal brain clock that signals to your body when to be alert as well as when to go into recovery mode. Each body and mind is unique to another, from when we perform our best to when we should be sleeping and waking up. Given this individualization, we use advanced algorithms to highlight the optimal window for sleep and activity.

AUTOMATICALLY TRACK SLEEP
Through our integration with Apple Health, Fitbit, Oura, Garmin, Sleep Cycle and data from other sleep trackers already on your phone, Rise can determine the hours of sleep you get every night, the number of steps you take each day, as well as data from other various activities that affect your sleep pattern.

WHY WE STARTED RISE
We want to help get ahead of the Insufficient Sleep Epidemic (CDC, 2014) we are currently experiencing and that has been steadily increasing since 1985. This Epidemic has led to elevated mortality rates (Cappuccio, 2010) as well as underperformance in most aspects of life (RAND, 2016).

Today, we look at sleep as a luxury. Rise strives to create a world where healthy sleep is a necessity.
