I loved this app when it was just Scribd (& when they first split Scribd up) for one reason and one reason only...the ability for me to listen to an Unlimited amount of audio books for one low monthly fee. But now under the standard plan I get 1 "unlocked" audio book a month or 3 with the plus plan? There's an "unlimited" list but it sucks. Great way to ruin a great product. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is bc of their huge selection of ebooks.

Context: I did the 30-day trial AND I have a brand new S24. It's hard to be positive about this app, other than the seemingly unlimited number of books I could listen to in 30 days. But this app is super-glitchy. It's constantly buffering; downloads are way too slow; playback speed regularly resets. On top of the glitching, there is a very limited range of settings options AND a limited range of books.

This used to be amazing. Then they changed their subscription model. It used to be $9.99/month for access to the whole catalog. Now it's $11.99/month for access to a very limited catalog and 1 unlock. Or $16.99/month for the catalog and 3 unlocks. The unlocks do not roll over month to month. You use the unlocks to gain access to premium titles which are then available to you as long as your subscription is active. And I can guarantee every book you want to read/listen to is locked.

Was the best….Now the worst
I have been a subscriber for years. You were the best audiobook subscription option there was. There were so many books to listen to all for $9.99 a month! Unbeatable. HOWEVER… I recently decided to upgrade to the standard plan for $11.99 for the 1 premium book unlock. I figured an extra $2 a month for 1 unlock was amazing because I still had hundreds of saved books that were free listens. BIG BIG MISTAKE. Immediately when I went back to my saves, all my books that did not need to be unlocked were all LOCKED. Are you kidding me?! Now out of the 400+ books I had saved that were free, I only have 5 available. 5. If I could turn back time and not upgrade I would. I just cancelled my subscription. Oh and don't even think about “contacting” them. They don't care.

UPDATE It took 12 hours to fix whatever was wrong because now the app will open, but I am still paying more for less. I have been a subscriber for several years. First, the subscription options change and are terrible! I get to pay more for less... awesome! Then it won't open.

Why is it, whnever I look up A book, 99 percent of titles I search all say at least a month before they will be released? And this includes old titles, but mainly within last 5 years. IHad this subscription 2mos now and I'm going to go ahead and cancel because when I started the membership (of course) Almst everything I searched was available! You're keeping whatever I search a month away so i continue to pay, hoping I want to read it that bad!?? NOPE, I DO NOT. CANCELLED

The app stops every few minutes. Also, it doesn't remember speed settings. You have to change it every single time you play a book.

I really want to like this app, but I can't. I cannot log into it. So I can't use the app to listen to my unlocked books. It just glitches around to the home page, Or freezes all together. I doubt I'll make it past my free trial with this. The player on the website is a little wonky too. I got to chapter 2 in my first ever and book and it stopped playing. Fingers crossed when I log back in it will work....
