trying to keep up with your balance on the app is terrible even online it's terrible they don't instantly update and if you're not careful you'll get overdrawn all the time

Unresponsive junk
I think a literal child could write a better app. Every time they fix one bug, they add 4. The chat doesn't work to contact customer care, the app freezes if you use it for anything but viewing your balance, and the idiot bot you are forced to interact with if you try to call them is just as bad if not worse. If you can get into a national credit union, do it and leave this third class bank to the third class employees of the state of NC

SECU has the worse banking app I've seen compared to 5 or 6 other bank apps I've used. It takes several days for expenditures to appear; other banking apps display expenditures immediately or within a couple of minutes. The app doesn't display running balances. Other banks show the current balance after each deposit/expenditure.

Can’t update app
Woke up this morning and my state employees credit union app says update required. When I try to update it , it says my phone needs to be updated to iOS 15. I am not getting a new phone just to get into my bank account!!!!!! Why is this happening?????

App becomes unresponsive at random times for an extended period of time. I thought something was wrong with my phone but others are having the same problem.

Updates too frequently
The app requires an update to use it sometimes more than once per week, and that we attest to having read 30-page terms of service before the simplest transaction. Frustrating. Release updates less often please.

Even worse than the iPhone version. Keeps making me re-set the app up to keep using biometrics to log in and then only uses my fingerprint instead of iris recognition. It is very obvious that they use the same incompetent IT firm or someone from that firm that the state uses for website and app development because this app functions about as well as the state's government websites, but is just a tiny bit nicer. As to be expected when dealing with government contractors privately.
