Sky Map - Latest Quality Issues

This app has worked flawlessly for years. Suddenly, nothing seems calibrated properly. I point the phone due east and it says "Zenith." I've restarted my phone, changed settings, did the figure 8 thing, and uninstalled/re-installed. Nothing works. Help! (Using an Android)

I used to have this on my Moto G9 plus, then one day I found the app displayed upside down. I could not get the app to show text the right way up. It seems that after opening the app it first displays correctly, but IV I accidentally switch it to automatic mode, that's when it starts showing all the text upside down. Switching it back to manual mode made no difference, the app still has all the text upside down on my mobile phone.

Not sure where the issue is, but the app seems to be backwards. I point right at the full moon and nothing. And when I search moon, it points in the direct opposite position. Please look into the issue. And, I've recalibrated, unistalled/reinstalled, powered off...but nothing fixes it. I just installed after reading the devs response that it's usually a phone issue. That's B. S. And piss-poor support. Well, it was good while it lasted.

This app used to be my go-to when I'd wonder what the bright thing was in the sky but it's been frozen even after multiple updates, uninstalls, deletions, downloads, calibrations, etc. Figured it would be a minute to get it back but this has been ongoing for months and nothing has changed.

Working after reinstalling, 1 star was only way to post negative review, not ready to up rating until had chance to see if it's actually fixed.

after using this app for years, it now doesn't work. I pointed in the direction of the horizon and it says that I'm looking at the South Pole. can't get it to calibrate properly.

Troubleshooting/FAQ
The Map doesn't move/points in the wrong placeMake sure you haven't switched into manual mode. Does your phone have a compass? If not, Sky Map cannot tell your orientation. Look it up here: http://www.gsmarena.com/ 

Try calibrating your compass by moving it in a figure of 8 motion or as described here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1EPbAapaeI. 

Are there any magnets or metal nearby that might interfere with the compass? 

Try switching off "magnetic correction" (in settings) and see if that is more accurate.

Why is autolocation not supported for my phone?In Android 6 the way permissions work has changed. You need to enable the location permission setting for Sky Map as described here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6270602?p=app_permissons_m

The Map is jittery If you have a phone that lacks a gyro then some jitter is to be expected. Try adjusting the sensor speed and damping (in settings).

Do I need an internet connection? No, but some functions (like entering your location manually) won't work without one. You'll have to use the GPS or enter a latitude and longitude instead.
