Old tech pretending to be modern
Having no choice in the matter (aside from ending my lease early), I find myself being made to use this service for things like unlocking my apartment and adjusting my thermostat. I'm a gadget nerd, though, and I find myself quite disappointed at having this platform… that cannot integrate with any of the other more legitimate smart home ecosystems and doesn't support the Matter standard. Consequently, I find myself with a “smart home” hub and app that can only control two lights (both in the kitchen), two deadbolts, and the thermostat. Can't use Siri or Alexa, nor could they even bother to ship Home Screen/Control Center widgets—only their passable-quality app. Now, if my property managers were tricked into early adopting a first-gen solution, I could understand missing features. But apparently this company/service has been around for several years. I get that your customers are, in fact, the landlords, but it helps to remember that landlords aren't usually very savvy. I'm sure they think this is a game-changing amenity. That's probably how it would seem for people waking from a 20 year coma, but not for anyone familiar with home automation or tech in general. Omitting this obvious (trivial, even) feature integration makes the whole thing seem like a money grab. I'm all for fleecing landlords as long as it doesn't increase my rent, but it would be nice if companies like this cared about user experience. It's not difficult—I could even help you guys.

Terrible
I want my old turn key lock back. My lock always jams. I get notifications well after I have locked the door and pulled the handle but I still get notifications that it's jammed.

slow for what this is supposed to do. when you open the app, it takes forever for it to open such that I am already at my door and punching the code to get into my home. this app should be instantaneous. what a joke of software. I'd say just get a key and lock. unless you want to ruin your tenants lives, but that was the goal all along with the property managements lol

Broken functionality
The app always shows the front door is jammed and there are always outages. Doesn't make you feel very secure about your home. Awful experience all around.

The SmartRent falls offline more time than it stays operational and online. SmartRent is difficult to reconnect to online status, needing authorization from the Apartment Complex Maintenance to schedule a time to come to your unit. SmartRent is not convenient and has been an expensive inconvenience. When the SmartRent system remains connected online, it operates well.

I would rather have keys.This experience maybe would've been different if I had the same Rights as everyone else,but cause I pray I have to let the evil devil play mind games with my door.Now I know that it's supposed to go to email not text, won't God do it.Thank you God nobody got hurt playing with my door since I found out how it really works no more jammed 🚪,no more 🔓 on it's on.Cause I found out the truth, I 🙏🏿 that this doesn't happen to Anyone else,God will get my payback 🤞

devices frequently go offline even though they are within 10 ft of the hub. help desk will mention moving the hub but as this is usually a rental, seems silly to ask to move this as we don't have the ability to move hubs

this app sucks!!!!!!! constantly telling me I have no wifi or Internet connections and won't load. I have to use this for my thermostat and can never get in. when it does load it keeps "request is taking longer then expected"

Not a huge fan. I didn't choose this system, and it seems to fail about as often as it works. I'd much prefer if all of the thermostat options in this app were just in the thermostat instead, it would make more sense.
