It's ridiculous that you can open an account with a few clicks in the app, yet you have to go into the branch and sign documents to close them. Last time I open an account.

Useless
App is always down, can't reverse charges that you didn't authorise, when reporting fraud no communication on what was resolved, more charges I didn't authorise. I'm on the 4th card since being at this bank. A new card every year. Learn from FNB. Absolutely useless !!!

Immediate payment disaster
Immediate payment is not always immediate. Second one is Standard Bank to Standard Bank account has no immediate transaction, it can take plus or minus 20hours for the transaction to be completed.

Marketing messages
There seem to be no way to keep the stench of marketing from taking over critical apps such as banking apps, which provide a service I am paying a lot for. The marketing messages can also not be deleted at all and seem to stay in the messages popup forever. It is useful that its possible to disable Notifications for them, but it looks like the only way to not to constantly be annoyed by messages and nonsense is to disable notifications on the app Completely. That is becoming difficult, because now std bank charges additional fees for transaction notification smsses. Which leaves the user with only 2 affordable options: disable app notifications in order not to be spammed - which makes noticing thefts on your account impossible, or enable it and keep the feeling of a sleezy app that keeps wanting to “connect” with people. All I want is a basic banking app. I pay a lot of money to the bank every month. Stop trying to force unwanted and unneeded and Ignored communications down our throats. Use twitter if you think there are people that want to stay “connected” to their banks' irrelevant news. I want to make payments, I do not want to read which rugby team you support.

Getting started

You’ll need some data to download the app for the first time, but data charges no longer apply when using the SA app itself. If you have a connection, you can do your banking! 

Transactional features are available to Standard Bank accounts held in South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Lesotho, Malawi, Swaziland and Namibia. Keep in mind that some types of payments include transaction fees.
Note that some features may not be available in your region.
