🚩PLEASE READ FIRST!!!🚩
🚩🚩🚩WARNING🚩🚩🚩 Yes it does work…I signed up with TextNow because I THOUGHT IT WAS FREE…👉HOWEVER, if you want to use TextNow for receiving SMS text verification codes, it will not work unless you pay for a subscription👈 TextNow is “intentionally” blocking SMS text verification codes (example: Bing) to make people pay = SCAM (you will get an annoying message telling you to pay for a subscription to receive SMS text verification codes)😡👎🤬🫣🤮 👉TextNow phone number is VoIP…many companies will recognize it and they will not send verification codes to VoIP numbers = so even if you pay for a subscription it might not work. This happened to me with a company I do surveys. Right away they recognized it and got a message saying “Member cannot use VoIP or WiFi line or any other type of number other than that designated for a mobile phone number”👈 Also, if you don't use it to call or text for about 5 to 6 days, you will lose your number (unless you pay for a subscription, LOL). So if you are planning to use TextNow as your secondary number, you will be force to use it often or you will lose your number & will need to get a new number again. I lost my number 3 times in 2 months…🫣😡🤯 FYI, you will have to deal with so many ads, it's so annoying!🤮☹️😡 🚩Don't waste your time…I deleted my account with TextNow!!!🚩 👉TextNow is for people who are completely broke and they have no choice but to use free cell service 👈.

it’s good, but not that good
so text now, it's a good app. however there are lots of modern features that text now lacks. for reactions, it is only supported by texting people with text now numbers. and it doesn't have RCS, but it does have a much lower quality version of it when you text other text now users, which let's face it: you aren't going to be doing. it just makes it annoying for people with actual phone plans to communicate with getting: 😂 to “hey!” text now also doesn't have an esim, which makes text now unavailable for me since i have an iPhone 14. in conclusion, text now is good. it's the same thing as google voice but with different layouts. i would just use whatsapp or imessage, but it's good to have.

Pay to see verification codes?
You have to pay to see verification codes. The devs actually put in code to detect if the message sent was a verification code, just to block it unless you pay $2 a week. What a joke 🤣

This app is a waste of time
I was using this app for work and was sending messages and they sent me a messages saying they're freezing my account because I was sending too many messages. Then kicked me completely out. They sent me a message saying that I can email them with my concerns and so I did, wondering what's going on. It's been months and no response from them. This app was a complete waste of time.

Buyer Beware
This app functions well enough, but this year has seen a huge influx of ads via notifications. I used to get maybe two per year, or something like that. I'd say they're up to around once a week now, sending notifications that are useless to you. But here's the worst part - for this sort of app, you can't block the notifications (you wouldn't know you received legit text messages, for example). So, for me, a paying customer, this is an abuse of the situation. Proceed with caution

Closed my account TWICE!!!
I used this as a 2nd number and they closed my account twice, saying there was activity that MAY have gone against some rule…NO, there was NOT!!! And trying to get a response? Forget it, it won't happen!!! Use ANY other app, just not this one!!!

Still not perfect but FREE
I suppose that if you were to pay for this service then the annoying screen covering ads that are often very difficult to X out, then I would give it a 5. Calling within the USA is FREE …as some other apps make you earn that perk. The text part is a 5. Very large selection of emojis and gifs. The app can be put on a laptop and I cut/paste urls and stuff to that and then send it to my real number. That lets me grab it off the phone app and go to the url on my phone OR copy and send it to other contacts on my primary number. The pick your number from outside areas and states is great feature. Cannot beat this app as a FREE private second number!
