Continues to Heat up my Phone

I had this problem on my old SE, but it still persists on an iPhone 16. The vast majority of the articles cause my phone to absolutely tear through battery life and cause the phone to heat up. I've started preferring to read The Athletic articles on the NYT app, because I never have the same issues. In the last 10 days, the athletic has eaten up 2x the battery life of Firefox, in 3 fewer hours of use. 28% vs 14. In the same timeframe, 28% vs 17% for a mobile game. It's ridiculous.

Where are all the comments?

I've read The Athletic for most of its life but, for the past several months, I can't access the Comments in my iPad, either to read or respond. It's as if a pop up blocker is in the way. Additionally, the back button continually brought me back to the same page. The Comment section is almost useless. Please fix.

Baseball stats need an upgrade

As a baseball fan who is checking box scores every day, I find myself going back to the ESPN app to do this. No visibility into stolen bases and it requires a lot more jumping around the take in the summary of a game. ESPN has the scoring plays recap underneath the box score making it easy to take in the full results of the game in one view.

Dark mode broken

Article loads light mode when app setting is dark. Only when system setting is also dark will the article loads in dark mode. Please fix!

Subscription fees taken but can’t log in

Money is constantly being taken from my bank ac for The Athletic and The New York Times. When I try to use these sites I'm told I am not a subscriber,even though they have illegally taken money from me. I keep complaining but I don't get any reply.

Toronto Review

No beat writer for the Jays? Less then stellar coverage for any sports other than the NHL. Far less of a product then it was. Almost ready to say goodbye.
