I've used thumbtack since 2019. Over 100 booked gigs on the site and I'm seriously considering quitting. The company just gets more and more greedy every year. Charging more and more for leads. If a customer specifically picks out a person they like and want to reach out to, thumbtack makes them reach out to three more people. All of those people will be charged even though the client already fund the person they use. Asking for a refund for a bogus lead is nonexistent. They automatically deny every refund request. Now you can't even talk to a person. This company does not care about the people who make the platform work. They only care about making money for themselves.

They won't stop taking my money out of my bank account. I cancelled my credit card and STILL they KEEP TAKING MY MONEY!!! I've contacted thumbtack, my bank.. they WONT STOP STEALING FROM ME!!!!!

This platform and app is bar far one of the worst Ive ever used. They have little to no support unless your trying to sign up, then they won't leave you alone. The lead cost never at up the job price. They do not support pros, and will take the customer side every single time. They even allow for customers to leave reviews even if you have never worked with them, they can leave a review based on your communication, meaning everyone one they force you to talk to has the ability to leave a review just for talking. They only care about taking your money from leads you will never get. They give all the power to the customer and use pros to line their pockets. One would think for how much money they charge you for leads, that support would be extremely helpful but it is not. Most of the customers on the app, if its not a fake lead to take money, have no idea how it works and will double hire or stop answering. If there is a penalty for pros not answering it should be the same for customers. If your not willing to lose a decent amount of money trying to get it started then I would steer clear of this predatory app.

Most leads are a waste of money and you'll get overcharged for some simple leads like drywall repair. Stay away if you're serious about growing your business

This platform is a big scam. I can't believe it they charge you for having conversations with fake leads. Is it a coincidence that everyone has the same issue ? I think This company should be investigated

Says to set a weekly max price. Yet will take a ton and bounce all your funds. Then refunds. Haha good luck. Been waiting quite awhile. Never again. I tried one lead paid 45. Nothing. To my understanding only paid if it sorta panned out never heard back and still paid 46. DONT BOTHERthink it's fake

Paying way too much for a lead! I paid $85 for a lead giving to 4 contractors to paint 2 bedrooms. You pay $85 regardless if you get the job or not. Horrible for small businesses! Customer service is the worst. You can't get no help or have them refund you for bad leads.

My experience with this app has been very aggravating you put more into paying them then getting actual leads. Plus in top of the leads they give you that person has already spoken too 5 other companies, or sometimes the customer doesn't message you back now you lost $50-100 just to talk to someone. I understand this is an app where you have to pay to play but I'm doing more paying than playing. This app really needs to make some changes.
