Do not use this app
I downloaded the app to get my ceiling repaired. I was under the impression that only local pros would be listed. This is very far from the truth. I submitted a request at 8 pm and was expecting to be contacted in the morning. That was not the case I received several text and a phone call at 8:30 pm, from a someone who wanted to start the next day, I said ok but I would like an estimate, they said no need they can get it done the next day. I am not sure who agrees to getting work done without an estimate. Told them I was not interested but they continued to contact me and said let's get it done, I had to block them. Be careful I think this app is a way for people to scam you

The app shares you phone number with businesses when you reach out. You end up with tons on phone calls because the businesses refuse to message in the app. There is no way to change this and it's impossible to reach out to thumbtack

Truly a scam, I pray to God the BBB can get ahold of this comment, these fraudulent slimy grease balls market their service as if it's like: "oh ya just preview the leads and pick and choose" NO they require you to pick a specialty and then AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE YOU EVERY TIME YOU GET A LEAD FOR YOU SPECIALTY REGARDLESS IF YOU EVER EVEN LOOKED AT IT, THEYVE STOLEN FROM ME AND REFUSE TO REFUND, ITS TAKING ME HOURS TO DEAL WITH, I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE 5 STARS, SCUM.

DO NOT USE. I download the app because I hated how aggressive Angie's list is. Turns out thumbtack now shares projects with Angie's list.

App shouldn't be allowed on Play. I have submitted project requests at least 5 times and every single time I get a corresponding email saying my request doesn't meet the guidelines and so they can't connect me with pros. Also, after answering all the project prompt questions and reviewing pros, to send your project, you have to answer them all again. I submitted feedback in the app and received an email directing me to share details through the "webform" at another URL. Security risk.

They take advantage of small income businesses like music teachers charging more per lead than the service and book people outside your area charging you for leads when you can't complete the service and instantly deny any refund requests.
