I typed my review not realizing there's a word limit,I am sorry for that. The app is horrible after each update,the remainder it does OK. However customer service is clueless and waiting on a call from IT department is a joke.I still prefer the app rather than calling for your balance and debits. It's more convenient for me.This is the stuff I was referring to when I originally commented on the app it's worse than getting a bill passed in co . Oh well I know there's in orrect spelling& punctuat

it's not bad but not the best it's doesn't make it easy to always have transactions go through and denys transactions when it shouldn't it takes 85cents out for withdrawals at what's supposed to be free atm... it just doesn't offer anything and for what you end up paying in fees i could pay less to a bank and even worse the banks don't pay you nothing in interest but this really pays nothing so it's really to get ya started but really just go get yourself a bank somewhere or joint account...

They allow anyone to steal your account and then charge the disabled cardholder to get a new card (not to mention the fact that they also charge you for all the attempts of the criminals trying to steal your account) and they won't cooperate with you or police in getting the person who stole it. They victimize cardholders regularly and promote criminals stealing your information and card. That's why Social Security says they don't want to work with them anymore.

I ordered a replacement card (damaged) and without advising me they deactivated the card in my wallet - note the card was still fun ctional - then transferred the balance to the card I won't even see for 5 - 10 days leaving unable to pay bills or buy groceries. Isn't this a digital world ? Why couldn't I have clicked a link once I got the new one & have funds transferred then. So now my p/u will run out gas & I'll starve

Incompetent, rude, possibly transphobic. Most of the people I've talked to from Direct Express were rude. I legally changed my name 2 years ago, they still refuse to use my legal name on the account, and locked my card when I sent a picture of my ID on an email they told me to send. They are withholding my money and I took all steps to prove my identity. I bet if it was a name change through marriage, there wouldn't be this much of a problem. But from transitioning, they blocked me access.

The mobile application is free to download for the cardholders whose card number starts with 533248. You need to register again with your card details prior to logging in the first time. Please Note: If your card begins with 511563 DO NOT download this app. Please look in the app store for the yellow Direct Express® logo with a description stating that the app is for cards which start with the numbers 511563. When you sign up to receive your federal benefits on the Direct Express® card, you will receive your payment every month without having to worry about cashing your check or having it lost or stolen. Instead of receiving a check, your money will be automatically deposited to your Direct Express® card account on payment day. You can use your card to make purchases at stores that accept Debit MasterCard®, withdraw cash from Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), and get cash back when you make purchases.
